Please read if you waited until 6 months before weaning

Kalia, what are the health issues you mention in your first reply for those who aren't BLW?

    Growing seeds

Yep, cress is easy and you can even grow it on a halved potato, or some kitchen towel which you keep moist. We bought a mushroom kit the other week and have enjoyed our first crops of mushrooms and they were lovely. L xx

Who did actually wait until 6 months to start weaning?

I did... he was happy on milk and not waking in the night, so I saw no need to wean him before. I didn't leave it later though incase we had problems getting him to eat solids, Lisa x

Moving From Newborn formula milk to stage 3/follow on milk

Hello, Sam is still on Aptimal 1. He has three feeds a day but over the last few days has been a bit more wakeful at night....not for a feed, just his dummy or a head stroke and he falls back asleep. Should I now be looking to put him on Aptimal 3 or Hipp Follow on Milk for example? Or might...

To Mums of babies born in June

Sam was born (Friday!) June 13th. It was fairly cool that week, but as hosptials are warm he was fine with short sleeve vest, cotton sleeptsuit and swaddled in a sheet. I found swaddling a godsend personally but not all babies like it. I remember all the staff saying that iwas a nightmare the...

    C-Section Recovery!!

Mine was very similar.... walking about next day, sex 2 weeks later, signed off and back in the gym 4 weeks later. I was thrilled as I thought I'd be laid up for months! Were you fairly fit and healthy beforehand? I find this makes a big difference to recovery. I was exercised throughout my...

    Cranial osteopathy for colic

Yes, I had a cranial osteopath for Sam, who had awful colic, I also tried the chiropractor but didn't find that as good. With the Cranial, I did see an improvement with Sam. It sin't a miracle cure, but does, in my opinion, put them back in balace. After the first session they'll be really...

Bottlefeeding - any hints/tips on making up formula!?

Sam tends to have about 7oz at each feed, so I tend to pour 4 oz of boiled water into the bottles, and then 3 oz of freshly boiled water when his feed is due, then add the powder obviously. I do this when at home as it saves having to wait for the kettle to cool down! I don't use the microwave...

    Breech baby

Have you considered moxibustion? It's a chinese remedy specifically supposed to help turn breech babies which is sucessful in about 80% of cases apparently. A local acupuncturist might be your first port of call. Or, you could ask your midwife if she recommends anyone as most of the prectioners...

Using bottled water abroad to make up feeds/sterilise.

Have found them online with boots and other shops too - thanks for your help. So I guess the bags basically sterilise the tap water as well as the bottles? Thanks again everyone. Think we are going to need another 20 kgs of baggage allowance!! Lisa xx
